EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIONAL EVENT OVERVIEW
Michigan Prevention Association provides membership both learning and networking opportunities. Each year, the MPA holds 2 main events, Advocacy Day and Burning Issues.
Advocacy Day - Day spent in Lansing, at the Capitol, giving membership an opportunity to both learn about and practice advocacy methods. Events are usually held in late spring.
Burning Issues - Held in the fall, Burning Issues is a conference type event, where members will have a chance to learn more about hot prevention focused topics. These events are held in person in various Lansing area based locations.
General membership educational events - in addition to Advocacy Day and Burning Issues, MPA schedules 2 educational events during the year, booking a variety of speakers on various topics important to preventionists everywhere. These events are held in late summer/early fall and late winter. Event dates vary based upon speaker availability.

In every case, MPA tries to assure availability of MCBAP credit hours for attendees at all events.
